Saul Acevedo Gomez (Mexico, b. 1995)
Acevedo Gomez explores the intersections of art, the human experience, and our relationship with nature. His drawings and paintings transform through abstraction, surrealism, and conceptual design, capturing the realms between imagination and reality. Drawing with different spaces, from self-development, philosophy, human history, art theory, intimate conversations, and personal experiences from the everyday to spirituality, he taps and adds value to the collective imagination. His work reflects our shared realities, resilience, responsibilities, imperfections, and everyday challenges, reminding us to continue, to seek new experiences and imagine new ways of being.
For Acevedo Gomez, his innovative works add new perceptions beyond our recognition to add value into our lives. By connecting us with ourselves and others through the expansion and exploration of art, nature, our imagination and reality he brakes us free from our mental and physical limitations. Confronting us with the unreasonable and the familiar he encourages us to set ourselves free from old ways to evolve and transform. His practice is a vulnerable expression of truth and honesty, delving into the uncivilized within us and the essence of love.
