Saul Acevedo Gomez (Mexico, b. 1995)
Acevedo Gomez is an MFA candidate at Hunter College in New York. He received his BFA from California State University Stanislaus with a concentration in multidisciplinary drawing practices.
His practice is rooted in the continual process of becoming. Drawing from books, conversations, artists, nature, the internet, and lived experience, he synthesizes diverse influences into a personal visual language that reflects the evolving nature of identity. Balancing structure with fluidity, his interdisciplinary work moves between abstraction, surrealism, and conceptual design, creating spaces for contemplation that examine our relationships to art, nature, the internet, the universe, and God. Embracing both the uncertainty and fulfillment of transformation, his work seeks the deeper connections that bind our shared human experience, understanding becoming as a lifelong pursuit rather than a destination.
Acevedo Gomez has exhibited at Hunter College, Swivel Gallery, Spring Break Art Show, Dinner Gallery, MAD54 & Galeria 1204, and Sabroso Projects (NY); Friend Of A Friend and Union Hall (Denver, CO); The Carnegie (Covington, KY); And Dolores 54 (CDMX, MX)
